Portable Two-Way
Radios are hand-held wireless communication devices
that are used to send voice or data messages one-to-one
or one-to-many over radio frequencies within a local
area, city, or state. They are battery operated and need
to be recharged periodically through a car jack or
tabletop charging unit. Portable radios may be combined
in a wireless radio communication system with Mobile
Two-Way Radios (devices that are stationary in a
vehicle and run off its power source). Mobile and
Portable Two-Way Radios each offer distinct advantages.
